Editorial standards and corrections

We want everything on Island Dispatch to be accurate and fair, and to make it obvious when something isn't confirmed. This page explains how we work and how to tell us when we get something wrong.

How we label stories

Every story has exactly one label, shown at the top of the story and in every list of stories. Unconfirmed information is never presented as fact.

Status: Confirmed
Confirmed by Epic Games or another official Fortnite source, listed under Sources below.
Status: Rumour: unconfirmed
Unconfirmed. This is based on reports or claims we have not been able to verify. Treat it as possible, not certain.
Status: Leak: unconfirmed
Unconfirmed. This comes from unofficial sources such as data-mined game files. Epic Games has not confirmed it, and it may change or never happen.
Status: Theory: fan interpretation
Fan theory. This is our own interpretation of the story, based on the evidence listed under Sources below. It is not confirmed by Epic Games and could turn out to be wrong.

If a rumour or leak is later confirmed (or proved wrong), we update the story, change its label, change the “Last updated” date and add a note explaining what changed.

How we handle leaks

Fan content rules we follow

We will never link to, promote or advertise cheats, hacks, aimbots, mod menus, “free V-Bucks” generators, or sites that buy, sell or trade Fortnite accounts, or any site that promotes cheats or hacks for any other game. These break Epic Games' rules, can get your account banned and are often scams. Our publishing system automatically blocks links like these.

How to report an error

If you think something we've published is wrong, email jakemcevoyyt@gmail.com with:

  1. the address (URL) or title of the story,
  2. what you think is wrong, and
  3. any evidence, such as a link to an official source.

You don't need to give your name. We'll only use your email address to reply to you about your report.
