Fortnite's next season just dropped its first proper look, and it's packed. Epic's Fortnite Treasure Hunters trailer shows off a brand-new island, the Straw Hat Pirates in action, a crew of music stars, and a handful of locations long-time players will recognise straight away.
Here's everything in the trailer, every place we've spotted on the new map, and every skin confirmed so far.
The Fortnite Treasure Hunters map

This is the Fortnite new map for Treasure Hunters, shown in a quick overhead shot in the trailer. It's an island of contrasts: a sun-baked orange desert across the north, a glowing purple forest in the middle, a burnt-out crater to the east, and a scattering of small islands around the coast, perfect for a pirate season.
Epic hasn't named the locations yet, but players have already started matching them up. Here's what we and the community have spotted, starting in the top left and working clockwise.
Cluster Coast (top left)
Cluster Coast was one of the new locations in Chapter 7 Season 3, decorated around the Cluster skin from that season's Battle Pass, according to PCGamesN. Not everyone's convinced it's back, though: some players think it's just Cluster's boat docked on the shore, which could make room for a new One Piece location there instead.
Hopeful Heights or Masked Meadows (north west)
The pink-blossomed town in the north west looks a lot like Hopeful Heights, Hope's home town from Chapter 6 Season 1. Others think it's Masked Meadows from the same season, both part of Chapter 6's Japanese-inspired island, as listed in Dexerto's Chapter 6 map guide. With Hope back on the posters for this season, Hopeful Heights would make a lot of sense.
Arlong Park (west)
The building on the western island is widely believed to be Arlong Park, the stronghold of the fish-man pirate Arlong from One Piece, and the setting for one of Nami's most famous stories. Forbes lists it among the One Piece locations on the map, alongside Foosha Village, Loguetown and the Baratie, Sanji's floating restaurant, as Forbes reported.
Nightshift Forest (centre)
The ring of glowing pink and purple trees in the middle of the island is a dead ringer for Nightshift Forest, another Chapter 6 Season 1 favourite, famous for its colourful trees and loot-packed hiding spots. It's also where Luffy and Zoro square off against Buggy in the trailer.
The Yacht (east)
Yes, The Yacht looks to be back. It first sailed into Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 2, the spy season, as one of the big agent bases, and it's been a fan favourite ever since. A$AP Rocky's teaser clip showed it as the backdrop, according to Dot Esports, and the trailer shows a yacht deck packed with helicopters.
Anvil Square (south)
The town in the south of the island looks like Anvil Square, the medieval-style town from Chapter 4 Season 1. It also appeared in Lil Uzi Vert's teaser, Dot Esports noted. Just below it, look out for the round hedge maze, which some players think is a nod to Masked Meadows.
Miku and Teto's ships (bottom)
At the very bottom of the map sit what look like two pirate ships, and many players think they belong to Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto's crew. Keep your eyes peeled, though: there are more ships dotted around the coastline, including one right at the top of the map.
What about the orange desert?
The big orange area in the north is the biggest mystery. Some players think it could be a throwback to sandy locations like Golden Grove or Calamari Canyon from Chapter 7 Season 3, while others reckon it's an older desert area returning. We'll know for sure when the map goes live on 1 November.
Is the Pawntoon coming back?
Reportedly, yes. Fortnite news account FNAssist says the Pawntoon returns in Treasure Hunters. Epic hasn't confirmed it yet.
The Pawntoon is a floating pawn shop boat, run by Knepley's Pawn Shop, that first appeared in Chapter 2 Season 3 and returned in Chapter 3 Season 1. It was the first location in Fortnite to spawn somewhere different every match, usually just off the coast, and it was always packed with loot, according to the Fortnite Wiki. In a pirate season, a treasure-filled boat feels right at home.

| Roronoa Zoro | One Piece | Official trailer |
| Nami | One Piece | Official trailer |

Luffy Fortnite fans are in for a treat: the trailer shows him in his classic anime look, complete with a stretchy Gum-Gum Pistol punch. These are the anime versions of the characters, not the Netflix live-action ones, as Forbes pointed out.

Zoro comes with all three of his swords, and Nami and Usopp are right behind him. Sanji is harder to spot: TheGamer thinks a blonde head on a boat early in the trailer could be him, but it's too quick to be sure, as TheGamer noted. Ace hasn't appeared in the trailer at all, only on the wanted posters.

Away from One Piece, Hatsune Miku returns in a brand-new pirate outfit, and fellow virtual singer Kasane Teto joins her crew. A$AP Rocky turns up on the Yacht with a rocket launcher, and Lil Uzi Vert was teased in a separate clip.

Fortnite's own heroes are getting the anime treatment too. Jonesy shows up in an anime-style pirate look with a golden flintlock rifle, and he's expected to be part of the Fortnite Battle Pass for Treasure Hunters, though Epic hasn't confirmed what's in the pass yet.
When does Fortnite Treasure Hunters start?
The Fortnite November 1 update, v43.00, kicks off Treasure Hunters on Sunday 1 November. Epic hasn't confirmed the exact time, but new seasons usually go live in the morning in the UK after a few hours of downtime, as Dot Esports explained. As a mini season, it's expected to last around a month.
What we don't know yet
- Which skins are in the Battle Pass and which are in the Item Shop, and how much they'll cost.
- The real names of the locations on the new map.
- Whether the Pawntoon really returns.
- Whether Sanji and Ace will be playable on day one.
- What the Masked Man from the trailer has planned. Read our Chapter 8 theory for our best guess.

What happens in the video
The Masked Man, in a glossy black mask and spiked coat, stands against a wall of flashing lights and asks: Seen the treasure, have we? Tempting, isn't it? A golden skull glows on the giant pirate chest, and the Going Merry floats down from the sky under a Straw Hat balloon. The camera sweeps over the new island as he says: Your fortune favours stranger shores. Luffy races across the water on a boat, A$AP Rocky lands on the Yacht, Jonesy fires a rocket launcher, and Kasane Teto and Hatsune Miku run through a lantern-lit town. Over the words A land of adventure, danger, and just a touch of chaos, players fight across rope bridges and a golden car drives through the jungle. Luffy and Zoro face Buggy among pink trees, Zoro, Nami and Usopp charge through the grass, and the Straw Hats run towards the treasure chest. The Masked Man says: Let the hunt begin. It ends on the Treasure Hunters key art.
