Fortnite's One Piece season is nearly here. Epic has scheduled three hours of downtime for the Treasure Hunters update, which means many players could be on the new island within hours of it starting.

When does the new Fortnite season come out?

The new Fortnite season comes out on Sunday 1 November. So if you're wondering "when does new Fortnite season come out" or "when is the new Fortnite season coming out", the answer is early on Sunday, with servers due back at around 3am ET, 1am PT or 8am UK.

The new season is called Treasure Hunters. It's a mini season with One Piece, on a brand-new island. Whether you searched "new season Fortnite" or "when is Fortnite new season", these are the times to know.

When does the Fortnite season end?

The current Fortnite season ends on Sunday 1 November, when downtime begins at 1am ET (5am UK). On the US west coast, that's 10pm PT on Saturday. Matchmaking turns off 30 minutes earlier, so that's your last chance to play a match. This Fortnite season end also closes the Override Battle Pass.

When do Fortnite servers come back?

Around 3am ET, 1am PT or 8am UK time on Sunday 1 November. Epic's status page schedules the downtime from 5am to 8am UTC. Here's what that means where you are:

Don't be fooled by the US clocks. US clocks go back an hour that morning, so in the east the downtime looks like two hours on the clock (1am to 3am), but it's still three.

Three hours is a schedule, not a promise. Downtime can finish early or run late, so check Epic's status page before you log in.

Is Fortnite down right now?

If it's between 1am and 3am ET (5am and 8am UK) on 1 November, then yes, and that's planned. At any other time, the status page will show whether there's a real problem.

Why does Epic also say 9am ET?

Epic's Treasure Hunters post says the first Captain's Day "kicks off with the Season" on 1 November at 9am ET, which is 6am PT and 2pm in the UK. That's about six hours after downtime is due to end.

Our reading: you should be able to log in and play from around 3am ET (8am UK), with the first Captain's Day content arriving at 9am ET (2pm UK). Epic hasn't spelled out what's available between those times, so we'll update this story once servers are back.

Captain's Days bring new weapons and Sprites, and they land on 1, 7, 12, 14 and 21 November.
